2023 Giving Tuesday

Franciscan Center for Social Concern

Today you can make a difference – in the lives of St. Bonaventure students as well as the many people SBU students serve every day!

In our sixth year of #GivingTuesdayatBonas, our goal is to raise $60,000 to support the outreach programs and ministries of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern.

The Franciscan Center for Social Concern (FCSC) offers opportunities for students to engage in transformational service opportunities. SBU students engage with the world by:

• Providing nourishment and fellowship at the Warming House
• Serving as role models for local children at Bona Buddies
• Offering a wide variety of fresh and frozen food through the SBU Food Pantry
• Taking students beyond the SBU campus on transformational service learning experiences
• Learning about sustainable agriculture and service with the Farm to Table program
• Helping to socialize cats and dogs at the SPCA

The FCSC is made up of a lot of moving parts: student volunteers, generous donors such as yourself and students who work within the FCSC. Students have the opportunity to:

• Learn about and run a small nonprofit
• Develop grant writing skills and participate in credited internships
• Practice management and Franciscan leadership skills they can take with them upon graduation from SBU

Your contribution during #GivingTuesdayatBonas ensures that the FCSC continues to offer service and social justice programs that change lives and allow students to learn while they serve.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
