The Reilly Center is already one of the best home atmospheres in all of college basketball and this year it is about to get even better. Bona’s is bringing back a student-only pep band!

The pep band will play at all men’s and women’s home basketball games as well as travel to New York for the men’s basketball tournament in Brooklyn this March.

The Atlantic 10 requires that we provide a band to play at the A-10 men’s basketball tournament and up until now, we have been forced to hire a fellow A-10 schools band to play at our games and fulfill this requirement. This year, that all changes! We have heard your cries for a pep band and we have gone forward with assembling 25 interested students and hiring a director. They have already begun rehearsals.

However, to make this happen, we need your help! The cost of a student pep band for the 2018-19 school year is $23,000. This cost includes paying a director, music, music stands, shirts for the band members, and most costly, transportation, lodging, and meals at the men’s basketball tournament.

We are working closely with the Music Is Art program in Buffalo founded by Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Takac to provide instruments for students in need. Without their help, this would not be possible.
