Hello! My name is Brielle and I am a freshman at SBU! I run on the cross country team and am an education major. I am a member of Bona Buddies. We work with local children weekly and provide them with a positive and fun environment.

The Franciscan Center for Social Concern at St. Bonaventure University is hosting #GivingTuesdayatBonas, a one-day fundraising event on November 29, 2022, a day nationally known as #GivingTuesday.
Last year we raised over $78,000 which allows Bona’s beloved outreach programs to continue engaging students in service to others. Some of these programs might be very familiar to you:
Bona Buddies – the largest youth mentoring program in Cattaraugus County. SBU students serve as positive role models and offer enriching experiences for area youth. After the pandemic, Bona Buddies was reimagined to offer safety for both our buddies and SBU students.
The Warming House – believed to be the oldest student run soup kitchen in the country, where nourishment, community and dignity are served six days a week, year-round.
Silver Wolves – We are back inside local assisted living facilities getting to know the residents through conversation, games and crafts.
SBU@SPCA – Each week, SBU students assist with the care of the animals at the local SPCA. Our students help socialize and prepare cats and dogs for their forever homes.
Break the Bubble – We are back! Once again we take students off campus for a day, a weekend or week to experience others and the world through service learning.
This year our goal is $55,000 to ensure that the service learning experiences for our SBU students and the care they offer to the local and global community continues. I accepted the challenge of helping to raise $55,000 and made my gift. Can I count on you to join me?
