Hello!

My name is Kristen Talty and I am a senior Early, Childhood, and Inclusive Education major at St. Bonaventure University. I have been a mentor for Bona Buddies since my sophomore year and because I love it so much, I also became a coordinator for the program last year to become more involved in helping to grow the program and continue its great success!

Bona Buddies is a youth mentoring program where St. Bonaventure students mentor children in the local community, ages 5-15, who are in need of friendship, special attention, homework support, and most importantly, a positive role model to look up to.

Students come to our campus for two hours each week and engage in various games and activities with their mentors. Buddies often tell their mentors it is the best part of their week and count the days until they return. I have personally witnessed the amazing difference Bona Buddies has made for so many children in the local area, and we hope to continue this wonderful program for many years to come!
