The Franciscan Center for Social Concern at St. Bonaventure University is hosting #GivingTuesdayatBonas, a one-day fundraising event on November 30, 2021, a day nationally known as #GivingTuesday.
Bona Buddies – the largest youth mentoring program in Cattaraugus County. SBU students serve as positive role models and offer enriching experiences for area youth. This year, Bona Buddies was reimagined to offer safety for both our buddies and SBU students.
The Warming House – believed to be the oldest student run soup kitchen in the country, where nourishment, community and dignity are served six days a week, year-round.
Silver Wolves – This year, SBU students write letters to local nursing home residents and develop relationships with elders who have time and stories to share with others. Friends with Sisters, a partnership with the Franciscan Allegany Sisters, has also taken up the old school practice of letter writing. SBU students write letters to develop friendships with the retired sisters living across from the SBU campus.
SBU@SPCA – Several times a week, SBU students assist with the care of the animals at the local SPCA.
A donation of any size will make a difference in the lives of SBU students and those we serve daily. Please give what you can.
Thanks in advance for your support of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern and the many ways we bring hope to the world!
