Welcome to My Personal Page

Many of you know I am the Director of the Franciscan Center for Social Concern at St. Bonaventure University. My position challenges me everyday and at the same time is one of the most fulfilling positions I have ever held. I love assisting St. Bonaventure students as they run the Warming House, what we believe to be the oldest student run soup kitchen in the country, offer hope and friendship to children through Bona Buddies, our youth mentoring program, form relationships with older men and women in Silver Wolves and Friends with Sisters.
The pandemic has caused disruption to our lives as well as to the lives of those we serve. I find it simply amazing that we have been able to keep the Warming House open through a pandemic! The support and care for the Warming House the last six months has been overwhelming. Each month, we serve more than double the number of meals we were serving before the pandemic. The need continues to be great. As good as the food is at the Warming House, I don't think anyone wakes up in the morning and thinks to themselves, I can't wait to get my dinner at the Warming House tonight! And yet, they come - because each day our staff and volunteers try very hard to offer nourishment, community and dignity.
And that is why Bona Buddies and Silver Wolves were reimagined this year - so that SBU students can continue to extend the classroom, learn from experience and make a difference in a world that at times can seem very dark
Will you please help us help others during these difficult days? Each gift is so greatly appreciated and needed. I can promise you, we will use your gift well as we continue to reach out to those in need.
Keep living your Good Journey and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Peace and all good,
Alice
